Box Times

I absolutely love Southend United and I absolutely love my birthday.  So what could be better than those things together. That's exactly what I got for my 21st birthday.  I didn't just get that obviously I'm not some kind of anorak that is easily pleased with a trip to the footie.

My parents splashed out for a box at the charming Roots Hall.  It was the biggest surprise of my life.  I don't know how I didn't guess.  We were going to the game as we do most Boxing Days.  My dad nonchalantly said "oh you might want to put something nice on we're going to the restaurant for a bite before the game." I obliged without question.

There were five of us that went, it wasn't suspicious as we'd arranged months ago.  As I turned up I still didn't have a clue until I walked into the box (thinking it was strange the restaurant was in such a small room) and my mum was in there with five of my best friends.

It was a brilliant day and may I say Southend provide some of the best hospitality I've experienced.  I should know I work in the hospitality suits at Stoke City's Britannia Stadium.

I recommend it to anyone wanting a good day out.  It helps with the result as well, we lost 2-0 against local rivals Col U and we didn't even care.
